Knee Pain Treatment

Knee pain is very common throughout the general population, and can affect people of all ages having a significant impact on daily activities, sports and quality of life. With knee pain, simple tasks such as walking, bending down, using stairs and even standing can be challenging, and it often prevents people from engaging in exercise and their sporting activities.

Knee pain can be acute and caused by an Injury such as a meniscus tear or ligament rupture, with ACL injuries becoming increasingly common. Knee pain can also be chronic and gradually worsen over time such as with osteoarthritis. Knee pain from repetitive overuse is also very common in running and jumping athletes, such as with IT band syndrome, patellofemoral pain (Anterior knee pain/runners knee) and patellar tendinopathy.

Whatever the cause of your knee pain, we will expertly assess and diagnose the problem and work with you to develop a treatment plan to reduce pain, restore function and allow you to return to your normal activities.

Physiotherapy is often very effective for all types of knee pain, utilising targeted knee strengthening exercises, training load advice, and pain relieving treatments such as hands on treatment and shockwave therapy.
